How I cook sweet potato for our three dogs: Korean sweet potatoes from H Mart, air fried or steamed with nothing added, peeled, and torn into small pieces. Here are the cooking times to start with, how much each dog gets, why the skin comes off, and the mistakes worth skipping.
Our 14-year-old Pomeranian eats the exact same homemade batch as our two younger dogs. The difference is one scoop of homemade, a little less kibble, and a senior formula. Here is what is in her bowl, why we changed it this way, and what we noticed after.
We brush all three of our small dogs every single night, about a minute and a half to two minutes each, using a finger brush first and a regular dog toothbrush second. Here is our real routine, the toothpaste we use, and what happened with our 14-year-old.
The signs of arthritis in dogs we keep an eye on in our 14-year-old Pomeranian: she tires out faster than the boys, she’s a little stiff, she stopped coming up on the couch, and once in a while a joint gets sore. Here’s her history, what the vet found on her X-ray, and what we changed at home.
How I clean my three dogs’ ears at home: one liquid cleaner for all of them, a fresh wipe for every ear, no cotton swabs, and the musky smell that tells me it’s time. Plus why I switched from ear pads, and the signs that mean it’s a vet visit instead.
Three dogs, nine products in rotation, and one morning where I could not remember whether the 14-year-old had already had hers. Here is how to give supplements to multiple dogs, plus the two ingredients I found doubling up and the calorie math no label shows you.
She took three run ups at the couch, gave up, and lay down underneath it. Here are the eight signs your senior dog needs a ramp, the slope and length numbers I shopped with, and why we ended up buying a $29.99 three step foam set instead of the adjustable ramp I had my eye on.
Three dogs, an eight week grooming cycle, and 55 days in between that are all on me. Here is the routine that keeps a dog clean between grooming appointments, including why the curly dog turned out to be the easy one.
Our 14-year-old was stopping, starting and carrying food across the kitchen at every meal. Here are the six signs your senior dog needs a raised bowl, how I measured her in two minutes, and the one warning worth asking your vet about first.
